Lodge Orinoco, Amazonas.

Orinoco Camp is located 20 minutes south of Puerto Ayacucho, Amazonas State (gateway to the Amazon), right along the Orinoco River between Atures and pures. This Camp both the design of their huts and for its exceptional location site is among the most beautiful of Venezuela.

The camp is designed in the style of the typical Indian churuatas built on a huge granite rock in complete harmony with nature and totally with local materials. It has ten (10) comfortable double and triple cabins each of two levels with private bathroom, fan and mosquito nets. It has a large hut overlooking the Orinoco river in which there is the kitchen, the dining room (seats 35 people approx) and the bar, this hut covers the social area of the camp. Has gardening and Roads in which you can admire and enjoy the magnificent Orinoco River.

Getting there: Daily flights to Puerto Ayacucho Maiquetía. Camp Caura Lodge / Rio Caura, Bolivar

The Caura is the third largest river in Venezuela with a length of about 725 km, and is the second main tributary of the Orinoco River. The Caura watershed is protected by the largest forest reserve in Venezuela which has an area of 5 million hectares. You could say that the forests of the Caura are the most pristine of all America, a large portion of its forests remain completely pristine, ie are primary forests that remain in its original form, have never been logged. The main attraction of this area is the spectacular Salto Pará, where the river divides and falls into seven huge gullies. During the rainy season the water volume exceeds the jump to Victoria Falls in Africa and the Iguazu Falls on the border of Brazil - Argentina. Caura Camp is located 250 km southwest of Ciudad Bolivar, Bolivar state, on the outskirts of the village of trenches, right along the Caura River.

Camp is a picturesque and pleasant refuge colonial style house in the middle of the rainforest. It has six (6) double rooms each with private bathroom, fan and mosquito nets, a large kitchen where they prepare delicious meals and a lounge. For the more adventurous have the option of sleeping in hammocks with mosquito netting. There is a terrace with a beautiful view over the river Caura ideal to have meals and spend time relaxing, admiring the beautiful scenery and amazing granite rocks that emerge from the stream. Fishing, swimming in the river, bird watching or simply explore the forest are just some of the possibilities to enjoy the day. The camp has a generator which operates between 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

Caura Camp offers several all-inclusive tours and packages, among them are: Crab Hill, which is a pleasant walk to the hilltop where it has a beautiful view of the Caura River and rainforest. Another excursion is a Pena Negra, a huge granite rock in the middle of the Caura. Mato Cano, a small canoe where you can see some jungle animals and a great place for birdwatching. The most famous of our trips is the jump for the tour, which consists of a three-day trek along the river Caura up to the awesome and amazing Salto Pará, where we have a camp in a place called paradise Playon. We also offer specialized tours for birders, this area is known worldwide among ornithologists and bird lovers because of the great diversity of birdlife.

Getting there: Daily flights Maiquetia to Ciudad Bolivar or Puerto Ordaz and then by road on a journey of about 4 hours taking the road to Caicara. Before Caicara del Orinoco to reach the town of Mariposa, then take a dirt road that reaches trenches where our camp is located amidst the lush tropical jungle on the banks of the Caura River.
