Hills Natural Monument Matasiete Venezuela and Margarita Island Guayamuri:

NATURAL MONUMENT MATASIETE HILLS AND Guayamuri
Location:	Isla Margarita, Nueva Esparta State.
Area:	1672 hectares.
Declaration:	Decree No. 1635 of 27 February 1974. Gaceta Oficial No. 30,342 of the 02nd of March 1974.
Management Plan and Rules of Use:	Decree No. 2341 from 05 of July 1992. Official Gazette No. 4548 of 26 March 1993.
Protected ecosystems and relevant natural attractions:	Hills covered with grasslands and coastal shrublands. Monument in commemoration of the Battle of Matasiete.
Tourist attractions:	There are two hills oriented north-south direction, separated by a depression. Guayamurí Hill, north is tapered like a volcano and an altitude of 480 meters. Matasiete Hill, south, made famous by the battle for independence, reaching a height of 680 meters. It has a high landscape value.
Activities Permitted:	The observation of nature, hiking, walking, scientific research.
Prohibited Activities:	Hunting for sport or commercial. The cutting and burning of any form of vegetation. The extraction of specimens of flora and fauna. Lighting fires. The sale or consumption of alcoholic beverages. The carrying of weapons and firearms. Sports competitions to collect large numbers of people. The movement of vehicles and motorcycles.
Schedules and fares:	None established. We recommend visiting the monument in the daytime.
