Location:
Tachira and Apure States
Area:
139,000 hectares.
Declaration:
Decree No. 2984 of December 12, 1978
Gazette Extraordinary No. 2417 from 07 Mars 1979.
Protected ecosystems and important natural attractions:
Andean highlands, semi-deciduous forest and evergreen forests.
Wildlife:
Temporarily house more than 30 migratory birds from North and South America. Protect the habitat and bird populations endemic or restricted as the ant Antpitta Tachira (Grallaria chthonia). Taken by spectacled bear populations (Spectacled Bear), pacarana (Dynomys branicki ~), lighthouse (Didelphis albiventris), cock of the Sierras (Rupicola peruviana), helmeted currasow (Pauxi pauxi) and oilbird (Oilbird).
Flora:
In the highlands highlights frailejones (Espeletia sp.), Ferns and orchids (Pleurothallis tamanensis, Pachyphyllum tortuosum). Among the dominant tree species is pine laso (Decussocarpus sp.). There are also some endemic species such as Rhynchospora Tamana, Oreobolus venezuelensis (Cyperaceae), tamanum Hypericum (Guttiferae), Tamani chardonü (Compositae) and Miconia size (Melastomataceae).
Water resources:
Caparo rivers, Ouinimari, Cold, you hear, Cutufí, Chiquito and Black.
Tourist attractions:
  • Recreation Areas located in the tarry oil entering the Corozo, has recreational park and the Museum's Oil.
  • Recreational areas: The rest in the ravine Agua Azul, Bethany, San Vicente, Rio Frio-Black River High El Delirio, Snow White.
  • Wastelands: The Tama Copper and The Jew.
  • Alisal sector.
  • Rivers will hear, Quiñimir and Tachira.
  • Lotus Cave.
  • Laguna Sighs located in the Cerro Buenos Aires.
  • Red Bridge on the River Burger.
  • Smoke Jumping Pit Cuite sector.
  • Sendero El Rio Chiquito Piró.
  • Camping areas on the moor Line The Tamá, Vega Grande in San Vicente de la Revancha.
Activities Permitted:
Camping, hiking, hiking trails and established routes, passive recreation, guided visits to the Lotus Cave, nature tourism, climbing in designated areas, climbing, ride horses, picnic, jogging, bird watching.
Prohibited Activities:
Lighting fires. Extracting species of plants and animals. Leaving or throwing solid waste. Mark or cause damage to vegetation. Hunt. Carrying firearms or any other that may cause damage to natural resources. Expense and consumption of alcoholic beverages. Introducing exotic species of wild animals. Make or commercial advertisements or political setting. Use of sound equipment that disturbs the tranquility of the park. Taking pictures or filming for commercial purposes without permission. Camping areas are not allowed.
Schedules and fares:
Visiting hours at the park is from 07:00 am to 05:00 pm To access the recreation area's oil must cancel the following fares: Adult Bs 300, Bs Student 100, Child: Bs 150, Bs Tent 1500. Parking: Light Vehicle Bs 500, Busetas Bs 800, Bs Bus 500.
