Venezuela General Cruz Carrillo National Park

NATIONAL PARK General Cruz Carrillo (Guaramacal)
Location:	Trujillo and Portuguesa states.
Area:	21,000 hectares.
Declaration:	Decree No. 2170 of 25 May 1988. Gaceta Oficial No. 33,976 of 30 May 1988.
Protected ecosystems and important natural attractions:	Evergreen forests and Andean highlands.
Wildlife:	Here is the only species present in Venezuela shrew (Cryptotis thomasi), spectacled bear (Spectacled Bear), helmeted currasow (Pauxi pauxi) Torrent Duck (Merganetta Colombia), goat of the moors (Oxypogon guerinii), owl White Sox (Ciccaba albitarsus).
Flora:	Rich in endemic species, several Andean ferns known in Venezuela only within the boundaries of this park: Cochlidium pumilum, Diplazium remotum, remotum Grammitis, Grammitis major, G. myriophylla, G. vernicosa, stuebeli Polystichum, Thelypteris sandy, T. frigida and T. prolatipedis.
Water resources:	On two fronts source of many rivers and streams.
Tourist attractions:	Laguna Los Cedros. Camino Real in Barinas. The Recortaderos. White River-Agua Fria. The Rio La Pica-Paramita.
Activities Permitted:	Hiking, camping, hiking, outdoor recreation, nature observation, rowing on the lake, trout fishing, mountain climbing, hang gliding in the permitted areas.
Prohibited Activities:	Hunting, commercial fishing, ride motorcycles on the roads and trails, dive and swim in the water body.
Schedules and fares:	There are established.
