Zulia State.

Area:

250,000 hectares.

Declaration:

Protected ecosystems and important natural attractions:

Coastal mangroves, forests and grasslands siernpreverdes swamp.

Wildlife:

Important species: the manatee (Trichechus manatus) and the Crocodile (Crocodylus acutus).

Flora:

Mangles (Rizhophora sp., Laguncularia racemosa and Conocarpus erectus), ferns (Epuisetum sp. And Ophioglossum sp.), And underwater aquatic plants (Echinodorus sp. Virginicusl and Sporobolus), in the forest are common ceiba (Ceiba pentandra) and mijao (Anacardium excelsum).

Water resources:

Catatumbo, Santa Ana and Bravo rivers draining into Lake Maracaibo.

Tourist attractions:

• Lagoons: The Star, Manatees, The Maidens, The Boyer.
• People Palafitos: San Esteban, Lagunetas, The Dead, Boca Catatumbo and Chamita.

Activities Permitted:

Observation of nature, contact stilts villages, sports fishing.

Prohibited Activities:

Hunting, commercial fishing, extraction of flora and fauna, discharge of pollutants to water courses, sporting competitions to concentrate large numbers of people, carrying firearms or any other that may cause damage to natural resources, expense and consumption of alcoholic beverages, use of sound equipment that disturbs the tranquility of the park, taking photographs or filming for commercial purposes without permission.

Schedules and fares:

The schedule of visits to the park is from 07:00 am to 04:00 pm and cancel the following fees: National Adult Bs 500, Bs Foreign Tourist 2.000, Overnight Bs 2,000.
