Protected ecosystems and important natural attractions:
Semi-deciduous forests, coastal grasslands, coastal xerophytic shrublands, coastal mangroves, coral reefs and seagrass beds. Important refuge for birds and fish.
Wildlife:
Diversity of seabirds such as pelicans (Pelecanus occidentalis), flamingos (Phoenicopterus ruber) red and white grunt (Scarlet Ibis and E. albus), frigate (Frigate magnificens), herons and gulls. Over 50 species of migratory birds. Extensive coral reef formations with diverse species of fish, marine invertebrates and algae. Dolphins, sea turtles and Crocodile (Crocodylus acutus); present. At Cerro Chichiriviche: machicolation deer (Mazama americana) and caramerudo (Odocoileus virginianus), ocelot (Felis pardalis), howler monkey (Alouatta seniculus).
Flora:
In the mangrove area dominated by red mangrove (Rhizophora mangle), but also found the black mangrove (Avicennia nitida), white (Laguncularia racemosa) and buttonwood (Conocarpus erectus). In the Keys there is little vegetation: grass of glass (Salicornia fruticosa), beach morning glory (Sesuvium portulacastrum), saladiIlo (Batis maritima), beach uvero (Coccoloba uvifera). In the semi-deciduous forests are common Indian (Bursera simaruba) and oak (Platymiscium diadelphum). Endemic species: Justice falconensis, Aspilia falconensis, and Pitcairnia steyermarkii Phthirusa maritima.
Water resources:
There exists within the Caribbean basin.
Tourist attractions:
  • Keys: Drunk, Salt, Dead, Peraza, Pelon, Hat, Fishers, Playuela, Plaicla, North and South Beach, Boca-Seca, Suanchez and Punta Brava.
  • Chichiriviche hill.
  • Cuevas: Mayorquina, Big Mayorquina, the petroglyphs, La Sima de Agua Dulce, the Lizard, the Lizard, the Hacienda El Castillo.
  • The Grotto of the Virgin.
Activities Permitted:
Navigation pedal and kayak in the lagoon perimeter Suánchez, recreational diving in Cayo Peraza, Pelon, Hat, Fishers, dry mouth, Playuelita, Playuela and Playa Mero, sailing out to sea east of the Keys Drunk, Salt, Dead and hat and southeast of Dry mouth fell, water skiing exclusively in Ocho between Varadero and Laguna El Zorro, windsurfing in the lagoon Suánchez, Paicla camping in the Keys, Sombrero, dead and Sal, surfing, swimming, bird watching, boating, hiking, jogging. Prohibited Activities:
Hunting, fishing or commercial underwater drivetrain, trap or cast net, carry firearms or any other that may cause damage to natural resources, collect any items from the flora of the park, bonfires, outlets and consumption of alcoholic beverages, make exotic species of wild animals, pets allowed in marine areas, excavations, or set to commercial or political advertising, parking in places not marked, enter the park in hours not established visiting hours, use of sound equipment that alters the tranquility of the park, using insecticides, throwing debris of any kind outside of the containers used for such purposes, for scientific research and taking photographs or filming for commercial purposes without prior authorization, anchoring on coral reefs, use of jet-skiing and jet water.
Schedules and fares:
The schedule established for remaining within the park is from 07:00 am to 05:00 pm To access the park in the area of Punta Brava will cancel the following fees for parking concept: Light Vehicle Bs 2000, Bs Busetas 6,000 buses Bs.9.000, Tourist Bus Bs 18,000. For Camping in the Keys should be requested to cancel the permit and fee.

Procedure for the night in the Keys: From the recreational areas of the Morrocoy National Park, is allowed overnight (camping) at: Salt Cay, Dead Paiclá and Hat. Those interested should request your reservation to Customer Care Center of the National Parks.

The operator will designate a locator key or subsequent to the application of the following information: Name of identity card number of people sleeping overnight days where you spend the night fell behalf of any other question that is considered important to get the ticket and instructive overnights, the user should contact the Coordination of Morrocoy National Park, located at the end of Avenida Libertador, Tucacas Falcon state.
