      Venezuela Paria Peninsula National Park

      NATIONAL PARK       PAR PENINSULA IA
      Location:
      Sucre State.
      Area:
      37,500 hectares.
      Declaration:
      Decree No. 2982 of 12 December 1978.
      Gazette E - No. 2417 from 07 Mars 1979.
      Protected ecosystems and important natural attractions:
      Coastal cloud forests, semi-deciduous forests, deciduous forests, coastal vegetation.
      Wildlife:
      It preserves the habitats of several species of endemic birds like the fafa Gargantiblanca (Margarornis tatei) and black Diglossa (Diglossa venezuelensis). Other species seen as the parakeet sietecolores (Touit Batavian) gold and quetzal (Pharomachrus fulgidus). Among the mammals are mandragón monkey (Cebus nigrivittatus), the howler monkey (Alouatta seniculus), puma (Puma concolor) and machicolation deer (Mazama americana).
      Flora:
      A variety of ferns, orchids and bromeliads. Among tree species include the mijao (Anacardium excelsum), mombin (Spondias mombin), the jabillo (Hura crepitans), the matapalo (Frcus sp.), The red bucare (Erythrina poeppigiana) and red mangrove (Rhizophora mangle).
      Water resources:
      Mountain rivers short course: Santa Isabel, Mapire large, dark, and Macuro Yagua.
      Tourist attractions:
      • Ensenadas Mussels, Snapper, San Francisco de Uquire, Don Pedro, Las Palmas
      • Dragon's Mouth.
      • Town and Macuro Uquire
      Activities Permitted:
      Excursions, hiking, nature observation, navigation.
      Prohibited Activities:
      Hunting, commercial fishing. Lighting fires, extract plant and animal species, leave or throw solid waste, make or cause damage to vegetation, carry firearms or any other that may cause damage to natural resources, collect any items from the flora of the park, outlet and consumption of alcoholic beverages, introducing exotic species of wildlife, the park introduced in hours not established visiting hours, taking photographs or filming for commercial purposes without permission.
