Forests oubadus custems, evergreen forests, deciduous forests, grasslands and coastal shrubland, coastal mangroves. Coastal scenery and islands. | Wildlife: | Danta (Tapirus terresfris), puma (Puma concolor), jaguar (Panthera onca), three-toed sloth (Bradypus variegatus). Among the reptiles are the iguanas (Iguana iguana), coral (Micrurus sp.) Mapanare (Bothrops sp.) And the Crocodile (Crocodylus acutus). At least thirteen species of birds of restricted distribution. Some birds seen as the tailed emerald (Chlorostilbon alice), other threats such as helmeted currasow (Pauxi pauxi). Seabirds and shorebirds. | Flora: | The shoreline vegetation is dominated by the cardonal-thorn and the formations of red mangrove (Rhizophora mangle), while Cassia sp., Cecropia sp. Erythryna sp., Inga sp. and Tabebuia sp. develop in the deciduous forests. At higher altitudes include the bucket or child (Gyranthera caribensis) and an important group such as macanilla palms (Bactris setulosa), cane mill (Chamaedorea pinnatifrons), the palm of chub (Dictyocaryum fuscum), palmitic shadow (Geonoma sp.) and palm PrApa (Wettinia praemorsa). |
