Gaceta Oficial No. 33,958 from 04th May 1988. | Protected ecosystems and important natural attractions: | Riverine forests, savannah and non-flooding saxicolous vegetation on granite outcrops. Cinaruco galleys, eolian dunes, rivers and streams. | Wildlife: | Protect at least three endemic bird species and more than 20 migratory species, including ospreys (Pandion haliaetus). Its wildlife includes herons, overcoats, storks and the stately Jabiru (Jabiru Mycteria). Among the mammals are the jaguar (Panthera onca), caramerudo deer (Odocoileus virginianus) and the capybara (Hydrochaeris hydrochaeris). It is remarkable the presence of the Orinoco crocodile (Crocodylus intermedius) and Arrau turtle (Arrau). | Flora: | Approximately 10 endemic species, among which are Alibertia davidsei, and Strychnos davidsei Erythroxylon foetidum.
