      Location:
      Zulia State
      Area:
      295,288 hectares.
      Declaration:
      Decree No. 2983 of 12 December 1978.
      According to Official Gazette E - No. 2417 from 07 Mars 1979.
      Protected ecosystems and important natural attractions:
      Semi-deciduous forests, evergreen forests and moorland shrubs.
      Wildlife:
      They stress the spectacled bear (Spectacled Bear), tapir (Tapirus terrestris), Honey Bear vest (Tamandua mexicana), the pacarana (Dynomys branicki), jaguar (Pantnera onca), puma (Puma with tail). Birds restricted distribution as the hummingbird Perijá (Metallura angry), large numbers of parrots, parakeets and macaws. Other species are colorful collared sorocuá (Trogon collaris), sorocuá violet (Trogon violaceus) and the King Vulture (King Vulture).
      Flora:
      Many endemic species cuina perijaensis Piper (Piperaceae) perijaensis Psychotria (Rubiaceae) confinis Begonia (Begoniaceae), Greigia tillettü (Bromeliaceae), Espeletia perijaensis (Compositae), perijanum Anthurium and Philodendron zulianum (Araceae).
      Water resources:
      Upon Rivers, Black, Yasa, Tocuso, Santa Ana, Gold River basin of Lake Maracaibo.
      Tourist attractions:
      It has a diverse landscape consisting of mountains with a dense forest, valleys, gorges, wilderness environments which together form a panorama of high recreational value, educational and scientific, with a rich wildlife and rivers that feed Lake Maracaibo . It also has historical and cultural resource of greater relevance in the area such as the presence of indigenous people Yukpa and Bari.
      Activities Permitted:
      Nature tourism, hiking, trekking, climbing, camping in small groups, walking into a beast, mountaineering, bird watching.
      Prohibited Activities:
      Hunt. Direct discharge of pollutants to waters. Collective sports very busy people. Leave, throw or deposit garbage and solid wastes in the park. Removal or alteration of natural resources vegetable, mineral or animal.
