NATIONAL PARK Parima-Tapirapecó
Location:	Amazonas State
Area:	3,420,000 hectares .
Declaration:	Decree No. 1636 from 01th August 1991. Gaceta Oficial No. 34,767 from 01th August 1991.
Protected ecosystems and important natural attractions:	Evergreen, semideciduous and deciduous, savannah and grassland vegetation tepuyana. Land of the Yanomami Indians.
Wildlife:	Single record in Venezuela of a mouse family Echymidae (Dactylomys daotylinus) among primates are the marmoset monkey (Saimiri sciureus) and spider monkey (Ateles belzebuth).
Flora:	Esacasamente known key elements: Eschweilera sp., Guarea sp. Tapirira sp. Gongylolepis sp.
Water resources:	Headwaters of the Orinoco River basins and rivers Mavaca Siapa.
Tourist attractions:	Gaaharibo rapids. Sierra Parima. Tepuy Mawedi and waterfall. Cerro Maturaca. Petroglyphs within the stream of Arata. Iyewei Cano.
Activities Permitted:	The park is restricted to all activities except tours, scientific research and environmental care.
Prohibited Activities:	Hunting, capture or mistreatment of wildlife. Booting, cut or damage the flora. The extraction of minerals. All those that are not consonant with the objectives of protecting the park.
