This tourist destination extending from Cape Codera its western end to nearly Boca Uchire in the State of Miranda. Caracas is preferred by many because of its proximity to the capital, its beaches, the possibility of water sports and many housing developments and holiday resorts. But the approach towards the sea, visitors often overlook its other attractions, such as Alfredo Jahn Cave Natural Monument, the National Park Lagoon Tacarigua, and old traditions, such as the celebration of San Juan Bautista and Cruz de Mayo.
Because of its fertile land and thanks to the level of rainfall in the era of colonization of Venezuela , was an ideal site for the cultivation of cocoa which the Spaniards brought from Mexico. With the tremendous popularity of the chocolate drink in Europe, large plantations were developed that led to the importation of slaves from Africa to work on and convert them to their owners, "large bigwigs" in rich exporters.

Starting the journey For visitors from Caracas , access is via Guarenas-usual Caucagua, taking the latter to turn off Higuerote if the target is the western part of the area. Just before reaching Higuerote, is leaving for Curiepe west. It is said that Curiepe was the first site where the Windward cultivation of cocoa, but his reputation now lies mainly in its lively festivals of San Juan Bautista. Cave is the second largest country, has easy access and beautiful formations in its galleries and exhibitions. It has 15 entries and a horizontal development of 4292 meters.
Sun, sea and sand Higuerote beaches stretching from the west of the city to Carenero. It is very popular, despite not having the beaches more attractive for the high concentration of garbage which is near the edge of the road and a very turbid sea due to the amount of sediment deposited because of the Tuy River which flows into the bay. Perhaps the best attraction for people who come there are abundant Guacuco set out to prepare consommés rich. More popular still is to continue to move northward from Carenero Buche and Los Totumos up and walk through the channels between the islands of mangrove forests where many seabirds. If your goal is the Rio Chico-channel alternative is to continue on the road to the East where you can enjoy a beautiful tropical setting, with enormous trees decorated with vines and bromeliads, as well as benefit from the sale of orchids, cocoa and heliconia before making the turn at El Guapo to your destination. The output for Tacarigua Lake National Park is just after Rio Chico. In the community of Bethlehem is the office of Inparques and the main dock from where boats leave for excursions into the lagoon and mangrove channels to observe flocks of birds such as large Corocoro red, brown and white herons, egrets palette alcatraz and many others. La Posada de Carlos, at the end of Calle Real, is modest, at the beach, with eight rooms (three with AA) with bath, the right to cook. Despite being disabled, must be in a wheelchair, always wearing a smile that reflects his positive attitude and has assembled the inn to be self-sufficient.
