Rio Cunucunuma - The National Park Duida - Guachamacare 12 days / 11 nights

A beautiful route that allows travelers to enjoy two majestic rivers and its people:

Orinoco River water and brown Cunucunuma sewage flow and a fast, inhabited by indigenous Ye'kuana, the Carib linguistic family.

Leaving from Puerto Ayacucho road for an hour to the port of embarkation in Samariapo Iguana river and begin our trip up the Orinoco River sidewalk.
The first day we passed through the island of Mouse and overnight stay in the town of San Fernando de Atabapo. From here continue to pour in for Santa Barbara.

The next day we see a beautiful view of tepuy Yapacana National Park.

Throughout the journey we stop to visit some indigenous towns, among which are: Curripacos, Piaroas Banivas and to learn a little of their cultures.

In the community of Lau-Lau arrimamos on the boat to continue Iguana aluminum speedboat by pouring the river. Once we find the Cunucunuma River, river flow and sewage inhabited by ethnic Indians Yekuana we continue our journey whose final destination is Camp Araguaney.

Acanaña visit the community, the first town Yekuana ethnicity, on the banks of Cunucunuma. In about two hours we reach the community of Culebra, the National Park population Yekuana Duida - Marahuaca, where we all three Marahuaca tepuis, and Duida Guachamacare.

Overnight stay at Camp Araguaney. After breakfast, we prepare for a walk * to jump on the basis of Palmito tepuy Duida. We passed through the community of Culebra where we can respectfully observe the work of the people, find some crafts and enjoy this fascinating landscape.
During the walk will have the opportunity to know a little about how this group live in harmony with the forest and the resources they use the same to survive. We camp in the jungle, passing the night there.

After breakfast we got up and returned to the camp Araguaney camp. In the afternoon we have the option to reach the community Guachamacare and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Acanaña to return again to address the Iguana and undertake our journey to La Esmeralda, the capital town of Alto Orinoco. Here we see the meeting place between the forest with savannah ecotones noting very clearly in these areas. It is a meeting point and business people from the villages of the upper Orinoco: Ye'kuana, Yanomami, and yeral Curripaco.

Having enjoyed a pleasant journey, full of wonders, we start our return to Puerto Ayacucho river with new energy.

* Option to walk longer. Culebra continue for thirty minutes to the town of Guachamacare smaller indigenous and Culebra. Here we take a path that leads to Tepuy Guachamacare, heading towards the jump Mono.

Overnight stay for two nights in a jungle camp by members of the expedition and then return to Puerto Ayacucho by river. Additional cost.
