Los Andes and Los Llanos
Description of trip: Tour of biodiversity.
It is a tour which combines a very important part of our Andes in Merida State, the Andean foothills of Mount and then connect to the plains to enjoy all its wildlife.
Itinerary: Day 1: bequeathed to Merida.
Flight to Merida (1600 m), capital of the Venezuelan Andes, old colonial city of pleasant weather and university environment. Hiking in the longest and highest cable car in the world. Ascend to 4700 m, having 4 different formations ecotopes. Return and Accommodation.
DAY 2: Cloud Forest-JAJI.
Walk around the area of La Carbonera, a region where the bulls are bred bravest of Venezuela . Visit to the Andean cloud forest, wildlife watching. Stop in Jají, typical Andean colonial village, shopping (optional) local crafts. Visit a coffee plantation and processing coffee. Return to Merida. Overnight in a colonial inn or hotel.
DAY 3: Paramo, HOT SPRINGS, foothills.
We left early for the moor. If time allows, we are moving towards a stream of hot springs in the middle of the moor itself, which is the landscape that exists above the forest, dominated by a characteristic and endemic plants called frailejones (Espeletia). We swim in a pool of that stream, before a stunning landscape. We are more than 3000 m, so that the temperature outside may be cold water. Sample biotope moor, with its elements. Walk to the Black Lagoon, a beautiful Andean lake nestled in a landscape without equal. After the effort and a refreshing lunch, drop by the opposite side of the mountain, stopping to observe areas particularly interesting or dominant faunal elements. Visit to the Andean Condor Recovery (Andean Condor) Descent of the most beautiful roads of Venezuela , through the cloud forest habitat of the spectacled bear (Spectacled Bear). Overnight in a colonial inn.
DAY 4: RAFTING, PLAINS.
In the morning we descend precious Andean rivers rafting or tubing (depending on season) in some of the most beautiful rivers in the Andean region (low to medium difficulty) or fish (optional). Optional tours or excursions on horseback optional visit to caves and petroglyphs of the region. Night Walk in search of frogs. Is this place one of the most likely to look for amphibians because of their diversity (only in rainy season). Accommodation at Camp Arassari.
Days 5-6: PLAINS. NAVIGATION, DOLPHINS, piranha fishing, Anaconda. We arrived at the ranch where we will be the coming days. We sailed Llano rivers bordered by gallery forest, home to hundreds of species of birds like macaws, raptors, waterfowl and toucans, turtles, anteaters, monkeys, boas, peccaries, capybaras, and even the elusive jaguar. Fish for piranhas and other fish to supplement our meals delicious (who want). One of our goals will be the observation of freshwater dolphins (porpoises). We will leave in search of the world's largest snake, the Anaconda, can reach 9 m (although most have seen here that barely exceeded the 6 m). We can also find one of the rarest turtles, the world, Matamata, and if we're lucky, we can delight with the vision of a family of giant otters on the Orinoco.
Accommodation in hammocks with mosquito netting and meals at the ranch included. Back to Bario on day 6 in the afternoon or evening
